Canon to enable hidden on-chip phase detect for Cinema EOS C100 video camera

We're all used to receiving firmware updates for our digital cameras, but major changes to fundamental features of the camera are another matter entirely. For customers of Canon's Cinema EOS C100 digital video camera, however, the second update announced in just a handful of weeks will see a huge change offered for the way in which the camera performs autofocus.

Since the Nikon D610 D-SLR camera offers a wide variety of movie applications, a comprehensive variety of frame rates, and convenient custom controls - which enable full control over live view operation when filming - photographers can move from inspiring stills to broadcast quality video with ease. Full HD (1080p) movies can be recorded in 30p, 25p, and 24p, with 60p, 50p, and 25p options at 720p. Full HD movie clips can be up to approximately 29 minutes 59 seconds long. Full HD (1080p) recording is possible in both FX and DX formats.
